Works completed:

• 3,000 m of micropiles (up to 18 m each)
• 20,000 m of self-drilling bars (up to 24 m each)
• 400 m of strand anchors (up to 20 m each)

Project overview

Cos.Idra is involved in ground improvement and support works as part of the construction of the Verona–Padua high-speed/high-capacity railway line, a strategically important national infrastructure project. The works form part of the foundation and stabilisation activities along the railway corridor.

Scope of works

The activities include foundation micropiles, self-drilling bars and active strand anchors used for ground strengthening and structural stabilisation. The works are being carried out using advanced technologies, ensuring substantial depths and precise execution even under varying geotechnical conditions.

Operational challenges

The site extends along a complex linear infrastructure, with works distributed across multiple active fronts and coordinated with numerous contractors. Logistics, production continuity and adaptation to different stratigraphic conditions are central aspects of the project.

Results

The works contribute to the delivery of the foundations and support structures for the new railway line, ensuring structural stability and continuity throughout the different stages of construction.
